Moemi Katayama (片山 萌美 Katayama Moemi, born 1 October 1990) is a Japanese model, actress, and tarento from Tokyo who has modelled for a number of magazines and commercials as well as acting in theatre, film, television and radio.

For the chūhai sold in bars and restaurants, the alcohol content can be quite low, allowing those with a low tolerance for alcohol to drink safely. Canned chūhai, however, can have alcohol levels as high as 12% (24 proof) and is often sold in convenience stores and vending machines.

The origin of the lemon is unknown, though lemons are thought to have first grown in Assam (a region in northeast India), northern Burma or China.

In September 2013, Suntory purchased the drinks division of GlaxoSmithKline. This included the brands Lucozade and Ribena, however, the deal did not include Horlicks.

The traditional Chuhai is lemon flavored with a shochu base, though some modern commercial variants have a vodka base. The flavors available have recently also multiplied, including lime, grapefruit, apple, orange, pineapple, etc.
