A capsule hotel (カプセルホテル, kapuseru hoteru) is a hotel system of extremely dense occupancy. This style of hotel accommodation was developed in Japan and has not gained popularity outside of the country, although Western variants with larger accommodations and often private baths are being developed.

Akihabara (秋葉原, “Field of Autumn Leaves”), also known as Akihabara Electric Town (秋葉原電気街, Akihabara Denki Gai), is an area of Tokyo, Japan. It is located less than five minutes by rail from Tokyo Station. Akihabara is a major shopping area for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods, including new and used items.

Japanese Spider-Man

The Japanese tokusatsu version of Spider-Man was a television series produced by Toei Company in 1978, based on Marvel’s superhero of the same name. While Spider-Man’s costume was certainly based on the original, the storyline had nothing to do with the Marvel character. Tōei Company, Limited (東映株式会社) is a Japanese film and television production and distribution corporation. Tōei was a pioneer in the use of character transformation in live-action martial-arts dramas, a technique developed for the Kamen Rider, Devilman and Super Sentai series; the genre currently continues with Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.

Lotteria Gourmet Chicken Burger

Lotteria is a chain of fast-food restaurants similar to McDonald’s, and now with branches in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, and Vietnam. It takes its name from its parent company, Lotte. Lotteria opened its first shop in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, Japan in September 1972.

Recent years have seen the increasing popularity of new types of “burgers” in which alternatives to ground beef are used as the primary ingredient. For example, a turkey burger uses ground turkey meat, a chicken burger uses either ground chicken meat or chicken filets.
