Mao Asada (浅田 真央, Asada Mao, born 25 September 1990 in Nagoya) is a Japanese figure skater and 2007 World silver medalist. Asada won the 2006 Japanese Figure Skating Championships with a total score of 211.76, and owns the highest ISU-recognized point total of 199.52 for the Ladies, received in her 2006 NHK Trophy win. As of the 2006-2007 season, Asada is now currently ranked as the number one female figure skater in the world by the ISU, acquiring a total of 4,205 points.
