Arnold Schwarzenegger celebrates Nissin Cup Noodle’s 20th anniversary

Nissin recognized that the bowls traditionally used to package instant noodles were not common in the U.S, so they instead turned to the paper cup; in 1971, they introduced instant ramen packaged in a foam cup. Nissin subsequently introduced this to Japan.

Nissin Foods are also Purveyors to the Japanese Imperial Household Agency.

Momofuku Ando (安藤 百福, Andō Momofuku), (March 5, 1910 – January 5, 2007) was the Taiwanese Japanese founder and chairman of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd., and the inventor of world’s first instant noodles and cup noodles. He was dubbed as Mr. Noodle and The Noodle Papa.

A mammoth is any species of the extinct genus Mammuthus. These proboscideans are members of the elephant family and close relatives of modern elephants. They were often equipped with long curved tusks and, in northern species, a covering of long hair.

Modern instant noodles were invented in Japan by businessman Momofuku Ando (安藤百福), the founder of Nissin, one of the biggest manufacturers of instant noodles today. His noodles were boiled with flavouring, deep-fried with palm oil to remove moisture, and dried into a noodle cake. Other preservation methods have been tried, including preservation with salt and smoke, but Ando concluded that palm oil is the most efficient.
