Tetris (Russian: Тетрис) is a falling-blocks puzzle video game, released on a large spectrum of platforms.

Famous J-pop singer Utada Hikaru is an avid Tetris player. She participated in a Tetris DS tournament sponsored by Nintendo and beat 26 out of 30 opponents, mostly of average players and also 1 out of 2 expert tetris players. On her personal blog, she is said to have reached 99,999,999 points in Tetris DS, the highest possible score, after playing the game for 17 hours total.

Hard Gay Father’s Day

Father’s Day is a primarily secular holiday inaugurated in the early 20th century to complement Mother’s Day in celebrating fatherhood and parenting by males, and to honor and commemorate fathers and forefathers. Father’s Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide, and typically involves gift-giving to fathers and family-oriented activities.

The officially recognized date of Father’s Day varies from country to country. Purikura is a term of Japanese origin meaning either a type of photo booth or the product (a decorated photograph commonly measuring 1 inch by 1/2 inch) of such a photo booth. The name (written プリクラ in Japanese) is a shortened form of purinto kurabu (プリント倶楽部, a registered trademark): the quasi-English term is “print club” in Japanese pronunciation. In Japanese, the plural of purikura is the same as purikura.

Jointly developed by Atlus and Sega, the first purikura were sold in July 1995.

The name “Shibuya” is also used to refer to the central business district of Shibuya Ward, which surrounds Shibuya Station, one of Tokyo’s busiest railway stations. Shibuya is known as one of the fashion centers of Japan, particularly for young people, and as a major nightlife area.

Homer Simpson Sparkles as Mr. Sparkle

After church Homer [Simpson] takes Bart and Lisa to the Springfield dump, where they find a box of Japanese dishwasher detergent known as Mr. Sparkle. The face on the box of detergent greatly resembles Homer. Homer, disturbed by the box of Mr. Sparkle, contacts the manufacturer in Japan for information. He is sent a promotional video for Mr. Sparkle, which consists of a bizarre TV commercial. At the end of the video, the mascot is shown to be a result of a joint venture between two large Japanese conglomerates whose mascots, a fish and light bulb, merge together to form Mr. Sparkle.

Hard Gay makes regular use of a number of catch phrases in his act; he usually makes his entrance in front of the camera shouting “Dōmō Hādogei dēsu” (Hello, this is Hard Gay), with arms thrust out and a spin afterwards. His self-introduction is then followed by his famous “dance” moves. He often shouts “Fuuuuuu” (フゥ~!) or “Foohhhh!” (フォー!), a running joke in his performances.

Most ramen noodles are made from four basic ingredients: wheat flour, salt, water, and kansui (かんすい) which is essentially a type of mineral water, containing sodium carbonate and usually potassium carbonate, as well as sometimes a small amount of phosphoric acid. Originally, kansui was named after the water from Inner Mongolia’s Lake Kan which contained large amounts of these minerals and was said to be perfect for making these noodles. Making noodles with kansui lends them a yellowish hue as well as a firm texture.

Ajinomoto Stadium Surprise

The first subtitle is strangely incorrect. The van actually reads:
「ひっこし野郎」 “[The] Moving Guys”.

Tokyo Stadium (Japanese: 東京スタジアム) is a multipurpose stadium located in Chofu, Tokyo, Japan.

The stadium was founded at Kantō Mura, the redevelopment area formerly used by USFJ, in March 2001. It was the first stadium in Japan that offered its naming rights, which were sold to Ajinomoto Co., Inc. with a 5-year 1.2 billion yen (about 10 million United States dollars) contract, from March 2003 to February 2008. As a result, it is currently named Ajinomoto Stadium (Japanese:味の素スタジアム).

The practice of hanami is many centuries old. The custom is said to have started during the Nara Period (710–784) when the Chinese Tang Dynasty influenced Japan in many ways; one of which was the custom of enjoying flowers. Though it was ume blossoms that people admired in the beginning, by the Heian Period, sakura came to attract more attention. From then on, in tanka and haiku, “flowers” meant “sakura.”

Avoiding exposure to pollen is the best way to decrease allergic symptoms. Remain indoors in the morning and evening when outdoor pollen levels are highest. Wear face masks designed to filter out pollen if you must be outdoors.

Razor Ramon Hard Gay (レイザーラモン HG, Reizā Ramon HG, occasionally HG, Razor Ramon Sumitani or just Hard Gay) is the performing name of Masaki Sumitani (住谷正樹, Sumitani Masaki), a Japanese comedian, wrestler and tarento (“talent”). His act gained national attention and popularity when featured on the “Bakushō Mondai no Bakuten!” (Daibakuten) Saturday variety show on TBS Television in Japan, in 2005. He should not be confused with American professional wrestler Scott Hall, whose use of the “Razor Ramon” stage name predates Sumitani’s. Although the WWE has trademarked the name “Razor Ramon” they have not responded against HG using the name Razor Ramon HG.

Dragon Ball Z (ドラゴンボールZ, Doragon Bōru Zetto) is the adaptation of the second portion of the immensely popular Dragon Ball manga written and drawn by Akira Toriyama, this makes it the sequel to the Dragon Ball anime. It was initially released in Japan and Hong Kong, and later elsewhere in the world including the United States. The ‘Z’ was originally added to the title by Toriyama to signify it as being the ending portion of the Dragon Ball series.

TV Funhouse is the title of a recurring skit on NBC’s Saturday Night Live featuring cartoons created by longtime SNL writer Robert Smigel, as well as a short-lived spinoff series that ran on Comedy Central.

Suntory was started by Torii Shinjiro, who first opened his store Torii Shoten in Osaka on February 1, 1899 to sell imported wines. In 1907, the store began selling a sweet tasting red wine called Akadama Port Wine. The store became Kotobukiya company in 1921 to further expand its business. In December 1924, Yamazaki Distillery, the first whiskey distillery in the country, began its production of malt whiskey. Five years later Suntory Whiskey Sirofuda (White Label), the first single malt whiskey made in Japan, was sold.

The Rat Pack is the nickname given to a group of popular entertainers most active between the mid-1950s and mid-1960s. Its most famous line-up featured Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop, who appeared together in films and on stage in the early 1960s.

Lost in Translation is a film released in the United States on October 3, 2003. It was the second writing and directorial effort of Sofia Coppola, after The Virgin Suicides. It was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Bill Murray, and Best Director for Sofia Coppola. Coppola won Best Original Screenplay.
