Japanese curry (カレー, karÄ“) is commonly served in three main forms: curry rice (カレーライス, karÄ“ raisu, curry over rice), curry udon (curry over noodles), and curry bread (a curry-filled pastry). It is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. The very common “curry rice” is most often referred to simply as “curry” (カレー, karÄ“).

In order to cater to local tastes and culinary traditions, and often in respect of particular laws or religious beliefs, McDonald’s offers regionalized versions of its menu among and within different countries. As a result, products found in one country or region may not be found in McDonald’s restaurants in other countries.

The term mecha (Japanese: メカ, Hepburn: meka) may refer to both scientific ideas and science fiction genres that center on giant robots or machines (mechs) controlled by people. Mechas are typically depicted as humanoid mobile robots. The term was first used in Japanese (meka) after shortening the English loanword mekanikaru (‘mechanical’), but the meaning in Japanese is more inclusive, and “robot” (robotto) or “giant robot” is the narrower term.
